Spec Check - The Ruck Twins

Liam and Markus Ruck led the entire CHL in scoring this year finishing first and second respectively. Markus is a hockey IQ driven playmaker while Liam is a goal scoring machine. Markus finished with the higher points total, at 108 compared to Liam’s 104. However, Liam finished with 45 goals compared to Markus’ 21.

Not only are they identical twins, their specs are 99% identical as well. They are both using an orange CCM Jetspeed FT8 Pro, with matching 65 flex senior shafts and a pretty run of the mill retail P29. The hybrid kickpoint of the FT8 Pro is the absolute jack of all trades that any player can make fit to their game. The only difference between their specs is that Liam shoots right and Markus shoots left… that’s it. That was more than likely done by design, their parents figured out a way to simplify shopping for twins… same same, but different. When the CHL was a CCM sponsored league you would see players fighting over gear exemptions in order to be able to use Bauer sticks. Now the Ruck twins are using their exemption to stay with CCM sticks, once you find the feel you’re looking for it is very hard to let it go.

With the NHL draft happening this Friday, will the Ruck twins become the next Sedins and be drafted to the same team, or will they be forced to separate to begin their pro careers.
