Not as much blade left
"Not as much blade left as expected. Good quality & still a decent price but would have liked to have a little more steel"
The best deal on steel you'll find! At HockeyStickMan we deal directly with 150+ pro teams, and source both new and used steel straight from the locker room for significantly less that it costs at retail. Some steel may come with a team's logo, or player's name or number. While most of our used steel comes to us still in great shape with plenty of life left on it, we do measure each set to ensure a minimum of 12mm of steel remains for blade height. If it's good enough for the pros its good enough for us!
*All blades are sold as a pair*
How to find the right size
Goalie skate often use a blade number system that falls in line with the size of the skate. So for example size 9 or size 10. Occasionally they will use the same sizing system as player skates. In these instances, pictured above is where you can find the size of steel that will fit in your skate holder based on the number printed on the holder. On both skates there is a 3 digit number on the outside side of the white holder on the bottom of your skate. This number will coincide with one of the options above and that is guaranteed to fit your skate.
Bauer and CCM steel will fit differently so it is important to choose the correct steel for your style of holder. It is important to note that if you own a pro stock pair of skates the holder may not be the same brand as the skate. For example we see many CCM skates with Bauer Lightspeed Edge holders. If this is the case for you, order the steel that is the same brand as your holder and not the boot.
Lightspeed Edge = Bauer steel

"Great deal, and hockeystickman customer service is the best in the game!"
"Luck of the draw I guess. The first set of used blades still had 80% of the steel left. The next 2 pairs had between 50-60% of the steel left. Price is still better than new but was a bit of a let down."
"steel was barely used almost full height . Sharpened perfectly and at a great price"
