Spec check - Shane Wright

Shane Wright, the avid HockeyStickMan fan stopped by to drop off a few twigs at the Etobicoke Showroom the other day, and we made sure to have him sign the wall of fame. I don't think we were aware of the level of stick nerd Shane Wright is. He dropped off over a dozen sticks with a ton of different specs, from P28M to this P71, and a few P86, P92 and others mixed in the lot. Not to mention the different builds, mainly Warrior now but a few old CCM's and even one that said "McDavid Curve." Stay tuned for that content.

There are also a couple small details on this QR7 that are actually pretty significant for Warrior.

For the first time, Warrior has moved the flex rating underneath the namebar, similar to what you see from most other stick manufacturers, instead of its traditional placement on the back of the shaft. This stick also features a player version code, another new addition for Warrior pro stock sticks.

On the hockey side, Wright’s path has been one of the more closely watched in recent memory. He was granted exceptional status into the OHL, went 4th overall to Seattle in the 2022 NHL Draft, spent time developing between junior, the AHL and NHL, and then broke through with 19 goals and 44 points in 79 games in 2024-25. He followed that with 27 points in 74 games last season and is still just 22 years old.
