Spec Check - Kashawn Aitcheson 💵💵

Kashawn Aitcheson has been an absolute force so far in his young career. The 6’2” 200 lbs defender was drafted 17th overall by the New York Islanders in 2025 and for good reason. Kash owns the Barrie Colts defenseman franchise point record with 171 points in 206 regular season games, beating out Brandt Clarke’s previous record of 158 points in 143 games. Kash plays a very skilled but heavy game, and he is no stranger to throwing the body.

His flex is a little surprising given his stature and playstyle, you would think he would be around 85-90 but he is using a 77 flex at an extended height of 64” (so it will play even softer). The rest of his stick specs are fairly standard, using a P90T curve and a Proto 2 which has been gaining popularity very quickly among both the junior and pro leagues due to its powerful mid-kick and insane pop (Feels like a modernized 2nproxl).

Where his stick gets interesting is the graphic, not only does he have a matching build to graphic, he is also the only known pro/junior player to be using the custom pink Proto 2 graphic. We can expect to see that pink Proto 2 up with the big club this year.
