Spec Check - Josh Leivo

A man of many colours, and by that I mean many different jerseys..with different colours…like, a lot of teams, you know what I mean. Josh Leivo may have left the NHL but we got our hands on his sticks, straight from the KHL and this one is pretty interesting. Leivo is over a point per game in the KHL and holds the league record for most goals in a single season, we’re glad to see him thriving.

This stick comes from the brand Soyuz, a lot of KHL players swear by their sticks and it’s so cool to see another brand rising in the pro stock game, not just retail. Leivo opts to use a Soyuz Master Frst, which is a mid kick weapon, it’s quite light actually. His curve is very similar to a Pro Benn curve, but seems a bit more open. The code Soyuz uses for this is a P113, which makes me wonder if this is an in stock curve, like a KHL version of the Pro Benn? I might have to find out more on that. Furthermore, Leivo is ripping this thing at 85 flex, nothing out of the ordinary, and a T shaft. Which if you ask me is the most basic shaft shape you can think of, nothing going on with his sidewalls being concave or anything like that.
