What stick does Sam Steel use?
Ducks youngster Sam Steel may not have put it all together at the NHL level just yet, but the former Anaheim 1st round pick definitely has some elite specs.
For starters, Steel uses a Nexus 1N build under a Flylite graphic. Viewers with a keen eye may notice that it is not a stock orange colorway, but rather a slightly lighter Ducks orange scheme. Though there is no grip finish, Steel does have ridged tactile grip on his stick to make it a little less slick.
Steel's curve is just as interesting if not moreso than his build. He uses a big paddle-like max blade that is fairly flat through the midsection then finishes with severe toe flip. We have also seen some Steel sticks without the toe flip - just a huge, almost straight blade.
