I find it fascinating that we are now at a point where almost 100% of the sticks used on the ice are made of carbon composite materials. Not long ago it was nothing but wood (Evolution of the Hockey Stick), but now it's all about the latest advanced technologies and ultra light weight materials that give you the quickest release and hardest shot!
To truly understand how a composite ice hockey stick performs you must first know how they are designed and manufactured. As such, I recommend all players take a minute and check out the following clips:
Note: The repair process has been engineered in a similar way.
Pretty cool that it takes less than two hours, but a lot of work goes into it, and I bet you would be surprised at how much they cost (they are still expensive to manufacture)!
