The ongoing trade war has had a major impact on the hockey world, particularly when it comes to composite hockey sticks, which are mostly manufactured in China.

Currently, tariffs on Chinese-made sticks exceed 150%. While there's hope these tariffs will eventually be renegotiated and reduced, the current environment has effectively halted the import of Chinese-made sticks into the United States.

Because nearly all composite sticks are produced in China and there is no domestic stick production in the U.S.—this development has created a significant operational pause across the entire industry.

We're Adapting—And Putting Players First

At HockeyStickMan, our priority is ensuring this disruption doesn’t burden our customers. We’ve been working tirelessly behind the scenes to understand and manage the additional costs involved in importing these sticks. That includes:

• Tariffs

• Brokerage fees

• Manufacturing processing fees

• Disbursement fees

These combined costs have made importing Chinese-made sticks impractical, unpredictable, and too expensive to justify.

We’ve always prided ourselves on value, and we won’t compromise on transparency now.

A Temporary Pause on Chinese-Made Sticks

For the past 15 years, we’ve proudly served the U.S. hockey community. And to keep doing that without compromising on cost or clarity, we’re temporarily pausing the sale of Chinese-made sticks in the U.S.

We simply don’t believe it makes sense for you to buy those products from us right now not at these rates.

That said, we're working on a cleaner solution than the $200 flat rate. We expect to have better options in place soon.
